So much music this week to get through. I just got sent a very interesting little package by artist Orlando Diaz Corvalan aka Medlin; it is an audio book with illustrations and poetry he has put together with artist Stephane Carricondo working together with his compositions, I thought to take three tracks on the show to display his virtuosity.
As well there is new material from [re:jazz], well not totally new but some extremely decent reworks from their Nipponise album from a few years back, all packaged up onto a new album called Electrified. From Japan music from The Jazzinvaders, some guys I hope to hook up with when i am over there this summer. I take a track off Madlib's latest release under the moniker, The Last Electro-Acoustic Space Jazz and Percussion Ensemble as well as music from Mophono's Halftone Society, Monoo, Ursula Rucker, Gotan Project and a lot more.
