Ben Mono - ambitious multi-instrumentalist, responsible for dozens of recordings under different aliases over the last decade, involved in various remix activities as well as several movie-soundtracks.
Whilst reading this short info about Ben Mono´s recent activities, he´s probably sitting on a plane – again - ready to drop down some place on any continent, spreading his vision of contemporary music each, in the next huge city as well as in some of the most remote spots of the planet.
It´s sort of an Universal Unit, accompanying Ben Mono helping him to connect to people of the most versatile backgrounds.
After releasing various successful 12-inches including remixes by John Tejada, Sirius Mo, Lanslide, Volsoc and Bell (all of them being constantly on heavy rotation and part of various playlists of his supporters like Boris Dlugosch, Dave Clarke, Funkstörung, Jazzanova, Zombie Nation, FM4 and many others), the highly anticipated new album´s basic ingredients have already been approved by a huge crowd at the Sonar Festival 2005 live on stage with Capitol A also.
Again, as on his last album Dual, the second one Hit The Bit (which will also be released on Compost Records) will feature a lot of different artists, as there are: Capitol A, Main Flow, Soul Sanchez, Kate Wax, Kerry L. Dooley, Jemini and Jason Todd.
Along with Ursula Rucker, Ben Mono toured for the Amnesty International Freedom Festival playing gigs between the wide greenfields of New Zealand to the heights of the some more deserted areas around Beijing over four months in 2005.
Touring through Australia and Asia it was not just him being impressed and inspired by both countries ethnical background, but primarily a turning point as he´s found that unique formula, that elementary tool for travelling as well as for developing his music. It´s an idea of restricting yourself to some minimum of elements to get along (or to create a good tune), and bring it all on to one point. To get proper communication going at the end, even if there is no way of speaking the same language.
