Currently touring Australia is Mr. Russ Dewbury. He has played to packed houses in Brisbane and Perth and is playing Melbourne on May 10th at The Laundry (upstairs) with Deep Street Soul, Ennio Styles and Blair Stafford. This is the launch of another straightup night called Hotcakes. We have just launched a monthly up in Brisbane called Jazz Lounge, the third Friday of every month at Alhambra Lounge in Fortitude Valley.
And are currently working on a venue in Perth.
The latest release from Straightup Recordings is Keith Caden titled "For I Know That You Lie". A mystical, soulful jazz piece. Getting some interesting reviews and playlisting quite well. We have also just signed Melbourne deep funk outfit, Deep Street Soul and have some new releases coming up in a few weeks so watch out.
